Parsons fashion history is as glamorous as its star players. The School's illustrious Fashion alumni who have designed unique collections for women include: Adrian, Carrie Donovan, Claire McCardell, Isaac Mizrahi, Behnaz Sarafpour, Willi Smith, Cynthia Steffe, Narciso Rodriguez, Donna Karan, Yeohlee, and the designs teams of Badgley Mischka and Proenza Schouler.
Through the years, the Parsons BFA Fashion Thesis Show has helped launch the careers of its most talented alumni. The first in the nation, Parsons' fashion design program has educated a who's who list of talent from Claire McCardell and Normal Norell to Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Lazaro Hernandez, Jack McCollough of Proenza Shouler, Narciso Rodriguez, Anna Sui, and Alexander Wang.
With announcing Parsons, the School of Fashion Line Debut 2010, featuring emerging designers from the Parsons AAS Fashion Design program, there has been a high demand to see more from this group. Check out our childrens collection as it marks the beginning of new trends and styles.
The 345 students accepted into Parsons’ AAS Fashion Studies program have an undergraduate college education and focus strictly on design. They learn about the history of fashion and trends and bring styles from across the globe to the streets of New York City.
Parsons’ degree programs run two to four years, depending on the program. Parsons’ curriculum features such classes as basic sewing techniques, portfolio construction and how to build an effective portfolio.
