AAS student Monica Singh, an acid attack survivor and advocate for global and social awareness, spoke at the United Nations last month to address gender-based violence and child marriage. Recently, NBCNews.com profiled Singh, detailing her work as an advocate and co-founder of the Mahendra Singh Foundation (which provides services for acid attack survivors), as well as her successful pursuit of a career in fashion.
