Walking is good for Visual Merchandising
Beauty is fleeting and so are display windows. Some change weekly, some change monthly. This window, photographed by AAS Visual Merchandising student Chantel Shah, shows one of this season’s “it” bags. It was photographed one day and changed the next (probably to make room for Prada Soho’s FNO events)
Walking is good for you and it’s the best way to learn about a city and its inhabitants. I’m Kevin Calica and I teach Visual Merchandising at Parsons. Right now we’re focusing on SEEING-learning by observing and considering what makes a successful display. Discovering what makes us want to stop and enter a store is key to understanding why and how we shop. Join us this semester as our class documents some of New York City’s most compelling retail store windows.
