PAFS 1500- European Fashion, Tradition & Innovation

Written by admin | Nov 07, 2011.

The School of Fashion is pleased to announce a very unique summer fashion course, taught by faculty member Tamara Albu. This course introduces students to European fashion, traditions, and innovation in cultural and economic context as it relates to and compliments the US fashion industry. As a site-line course, it incorporates study both in New York and 2 weeks in Paris France, along with on-line discussion groups and research. Students will visit important fashion companies, cultural establishments focused on textile and fashion, and attend fashion trend presentations and exhibitions. Students will learn how to navigate the European market from various retail forms to apparel resources and fashion trends. Ultimately, this course will enable the students to experience and understand the international business environment and prepare for careers in the global fashion industry.

This three-credit elective site-line course is open to matriculated degree candidates in the AAS Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing programs; it is also open to seniors from BFA Fashion, BBA Design and Management and BFA Integrated Design Curriculum Programs.
