Press Coverage: The Art of Craftsmanship
The partnership project built between Parsons and LVMH surpassed all expectations. The talented photo/video journalist Elle Muliarchyk was on-site documenting students setting up the exhibition for the Nowness blog. She is pictured right, photographing a model in a student designed dress, left, in an historic home on Governor’s Island. The photo documentary of this day is posted on “The Art of Craftsmanship Revisted”. A brief video, highlighting caligraphy artist Bernie Maisner and students supporting his work is featured in “Talking Tradition” along with an interview Elle presents with Renaud Dutreil, Chairman of LVMH North America.
The press has been flooded with articles on the project. It was such a unique chance for students to meet the challenge by collaborating with each other, multiple artisans and prestigious partner, LVMH. The show is open through the end of June, in historic homes on Governor’s Island. The show and ferry to the island are both free, and open to the public on weekends only. p.s. The $1 million Hublot black diamond watch on display sold in 2 hours. The story has it that armed security were on hand to complete the transaction and the happy customer sailed off Governor’s Island with a truly unique gem!

Hello, I would love it too if you had more pictures of the students garments. I cannot find thorough visual coverage on any website. What a wonderful collaboration! Well done Parsons and LVMH!
